Jim Simon

Jim Simon made a name for himself as an animator with a distinctive squiggly lined style that featured African American characters on such shows as Sesame Street (1969), The Electric Company (1971), and Vegetable Soup (1975), creating such segments as the little girl who was sent to the store to buy a loaf of bread, a container of milk, and a stick of butter; and "Hey, Diddle Diddle," which featured a jazz-funk band of cats that sang an original song about the coolest cat on the fiddle. He also had his own studio called Wantu Studios, which did the original animated titles for Soul Train (1971).
