Martin Wilson
With a career spanning nearly 25 years, Martin Wilson is an internationally awarded film director based in Perth, Western Australia. His debut feature film Great White (released 2021), stars Katrina Bowden (30 Rock, Bold and the Beautiful) and Aaron Jakubenko (Tidelands, The Shannara Chronicles). Martin's short film 'Wait 'Til Your Father Gets Home', was the "Best Short Film" Finalist at the St Kilda Film Festival and a recipient of a Certificate of Excellence at the Telluride Independent Festival and a "Best Short Drama" award at the New York Festivals and a Best Short Film For Showtime at SPAA Conference in 2002.The film also gained entry into prestigious Film Festivals; Boston, Atlantic, Melbourne IFF, St Kilda and Hawaii IFF, Palm Springs Festival of Festivals, Canberra Film Festival and St Kilda Film Festival. His 2004 film 'Roll', was funded and distributed by ShowTime and SBS Independent. It still plays on Showtime to this day. His extensive commercial work includes five 'STOP The Coward Punch' TVC campaigns with world boxing champion Danny Green. Martin co-owned premier Film Production company, Soul Films for 18 years and is a co-founder of Third Storey Pictures Pty Ltd., He has serviced a variety of commercial clients including; Bankwest, BHP, Brownes, Fremantle Dockers, HBF, Hungry Jacks, IiNet, Lotterywest, RAC, Kleenheat Gas, Synergy, Toyota and the West Coast Eagles. Martin has passionately created short films for Helping Minds, Mental Health Commission and the Wirrpanda Foundation, focusing on important social issues such as mental health and child abuse awareness. Martin is also an Australian Directors' Guild 2018 Award nominee for his work on Helping Minds - Real stories and winner of the PADC Diamond Skulls Best Director 2021 Award.
